BOOMSLANG's fourth grade girls team wrapped up their fall season in exciting fashion competing in the Zero Gravity NY Fall Finale! With impressive teamwork and ball movement, the girls got up and down the floor with ease reaching a season-high in points scored in game one against Born Leaders Basketball. Along with their always imposing defense, game one turned out to be the team's most complete effort of the season in a contest that came down to the final shot. In game two, they battled Connecticut Elite on every possession, setting the team up to represent Greenwich in an exciting semi-finals match-up the very next day.
This morning, Coach Ron led his squad against Born Leaders Basketball in a rematch of the day before, this time with a Championship Game appearance on the line. A three-point game at halftime, the girls finished strong and showed why this group was able to wrap up the season with seven more total wins in fall than they had in spring, including a tournament championship at the Zero Gravity Connecticut Showdown. The team is putting in the work, getting better week after week and their hard work is paying off.
Next season, opposing teams' calendars will be circled anywhere they say 'vs Boomslang Basketball Club' and we can't wait to have the girls back together competing this winter!
Thank you Anja, Ella, Evelyn, Isla, Julia, Molly, Nellie, Olivia, Sabella, Valerie, Violet and Zoe for always showing up to practice enthusiastic and ready to learn new skills and work together as a team to improve each week. Thank you Coach Ron and Coach Jessica for all your hard work this fall! We can't wait to see what you accomplish with the team this winter! Thank you to the parents, siblings and family members who made the trips to Hartsdale, Ardsley, Yorktown Heights, Trumbull, Newtown and Brewster to cheer the team on week after week!
